We couldn't exactly piece together what the spindly rail line in the foreground was for, but it seemed to be for hauling goods and/or people off of the terraces. The equally-shaky-looking narrow-gauge trestle bridge crossing the scene was unfortunately abandoned. There's lots of unused stuff in the Japanese countryside.
