A typhoon had hit this coastal town in Chiba some years back, and signs of the damage were everywhere. Still, it took a moment for me to put 2 + 2 together when I saw a new car in a roofless wreck of a garage - the garage and very likely the car in it had been trashed by the typhoon and they'd replaced the car.
