We came across this power-line pole at a bend in the road. It had a penetrating blue light glaring at the long stretch of road just before the bend. I imagined that it might be to attract attention to the pole for people who might miss the bend. It's possible that it was necessary due to collisions, you don't usually see poles with guy wires. It's very common for roads in Japan to be unlit, even winding highways that pass through the countryside.
