This was taken in Akihabara, a busy part of the city on the central loop train line. It's connected to Kameido where I was staying by the breathtakingly busy Sobu line (which runs at 200% of capacity). Note the lack of vehicle traffic (at about 19:30) despite the heavy foot traffic. The modern white lighting here is much better than in Kameido, a reflection of the busy-ness of the area. Also a lot of light is provided by the signage. (White lights are relatively new to Tokyo.) The truck at far left is very typical of a mid-to-large size Tokyo truck: short cab, low windows, small wheels, and low cab height. All very pedestrian-friendly.
