Pictured here are some large container ships out in the Georgia Strait, beyond the mouth of Burrard Inlet. I made this image by slowly turning the focal length control on the lens, thereby 'zooming'' in and out on the ships. I suspect that the brightly lit cloud - which I couldn''t see at all while taking this photo - is so bright because of small electrical discharges. There was a full-blown thunderstorm going on about fifteen kilometres to the north-west (this shot looks north-west from Vancouver''s Stanley Park).
