toronto's cabbagetown

a photo collection
There's a habit in Toronto for neighbourhoods to be identified by name. Many of the names didn't exist in the mid nineties when I first arrived here (Corktown? Leslieville?). But Cabbagetown was a name everyone knew; its a busy place with decent houses and good shopping. One thing that's always pleased me about the district is the high standard for restaurants; I don't know how this has happened in a city where restaurants are a notorious crapshoot.
