paying for PC support

It's come to this - I'm paying for someone to look into a wonky laptop.

I was once paid for this sort of thing, now I don't know where to start. Mind you, I did work on desktop PC's, which are swimming in free internal space, at a time when systems were dead simple.

Also, I'm in management now and haven't done hands-on technical work in nearly twenty years.
