tried to fix our TV

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Kokubunji, 2021.09.25

We tried to fix our TV today. The sound's been dropping out intermittently for months. A fellow from the TV manufacturer came and replaced the main board inside, but it didn't work - in fact it got worse.

I'd previously tried replacing the cable with a "premium" cable from Amazon, but I'll try again with an HDMI 2.1 jobby from "Ugreen", which is an "off-brand brand" that specializes in these things. I've bought two different types this time.

Everything is so bloody complicated. We just wanted to have "movie night" with the kids once a week.

rand()m quote

I feel fortunate that I enjoyed the blandishments of modernity. I had hip replacement and root canal. I was able to travel on airplanes. I was able to take cheap food for granted. I went to the movies. I enjoyed rock 'n' roll. And now I'm ready to move on.
