This is a super-hero movie based on the Marvel Thor comic books, which I never read. Thor is given a challenge to earn his place as heir to the throne of Asgard. Asgard is plunged into war and Thor - "minus his powers" - is on Earth. It's got a decent cast and is general engaging with a plot and strong characters and challenges at different levels. For one of these endless Marvel super-human things it is at least straightforward and has a point. Our seven-year-old son enjoyed it for "movie night".

Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray's case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues.
