movie review - Riddick

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2014.06.21

This is the unnecessary third movie in the "Pitch Black" series. This is vastly better than the second movie, but that's saying nothing. It features our favorite anti-hero struggling to survive on a hostile planet all on his own. He eventually runs into some mercenaries, who are two-dimensional awful people. And it's here that the movie's plot starts to unravel and its very uneven dialog begins to .. become uneven. These characters are mis-handled, and a lot of what follows is mis-handled, and we deal with the Big Bad too soon.

Not recommended.
