santa claus parade

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2012.11.18

The Santa Claus parade wasn't really enough to hold The Boy's attention this year. And I can't blame him. A long succession of marching bands and troops of clowns in slow succession, interrupted by long pauses that went to five minutes. Many of the other kids lining the route were running around playing tag, using smart phones and game consoles, or otherwise uninterested.

As subdued as the crowd was in general, everything pretty much went quiet when the controversial Mayor passed.
