Linda Penwarden Jewellery

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2012.01.21

For Christmas, I bought my wife a pearl bracelet that she really loves.

One little problem - the hasp broke on its third wearing. This was last Saturday.

On Sunday night I wrote an email to the jewelry company that sold us the thing. By Tuesday morning I'd heard back from them with a request to send a courier to the bracelet's location to have it picked up at the company's expense. By Wednesday afternoon, I had the repaired piece back in my possession - it had been fixed at no cost. I consider that pretty damn good customer service.

But Mari was still worried that it might not fit her correctly, so today we took the piece in to the jewelry store to have them look at it. Sure enough, they thought that it could be made larger - using an extra pearl - to fit properly. What's more, they were going to make this change for free. I even offered to pay for the repair, but they insisted.

No doubt about it, Linda Penwarden jewelry is the best jewelry company I've ever done business with. I could only dream that old Caritas could have been its equal.

rand()m quote

Some people talk about living every day like it might be their last. Maybe that's good advice. Carpe diem and all that. But perhaps it's better to try to live every day like it might be everyone's last. If there are people in your life who are important to you, let them know...
