swimming and sausages - it's a BBQ

Newmarket, 2011.08.27

Today my mum came up from Niagara, and the four of us headed to Newmarket for a family reunion of sorts.

It's really "just" a BBQ, but it's hosted by a cousin on my mum's side, and I don't see that side of the family much so for me it was certainly a reunion. Also, a chance to introduce Mari and Kenny to several members of the family.

We had a fine time. There was a fairly lavish assortment of food and as you'd expect from a primarily Scots-Irish family a fairly lavish assortment of alcohol. My cousin is a landscaper, and her place has a superb backyard as you might expect. Even a first-rate kid's playground, though she has no children. But it was the pool where Kenny and I spent quite a bit of time, and Kenny made some progress in his swimming. He's not a particularly timid character, our son.
