movie review - Toy Story 3

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2011.06.24

When I first saw the original "Toy Story" I wouldn't have guessed that there would be a trilogy or that I'd watch the final one with my three-year-old son. But that's how it went down and we loved it. The toys have an adventure involving being donated to a daycare where Not All Is What It Seems. They're nearly scrapped after an escape attempt gone wrongish. It's a heart-rending scene, but there's worse coming, because this one ends with Andy heading off to college and giving his toys to a little girl in the neighborhood. Waaaah!

Recommended.

A civilization is a heritage of beliefs, customs, and knowledge slowly accumulated in the course of centuries, elements difficult at times to justify by logic, but justifying themselves as paths when they lead somewhere, since they open up for man his inner distance.
