bachelor life

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Tokyo, 2008.12.16

Mari and Kenny are in Miyazaki. They went down on Friday so that Mari could attend the wedding of a friend. Immediately, a certain deterioration kicked in. Until this evening, when it reached its peak -- I discovered that the rice maker was on and that it had half a cup o rice in. Five day old rice. Whooboy.

I'm making a little toy for young Ta-kun. It's a pull-toy that bobs up and down as you pull it. I stole the idea from a toy I found in a store. It's really coming along nicely. I have to get it finished in a hurry, though -- I won't be able to take the spray paint on the plane!

rand()m quote

Work is about a daily search for meaning as well as daily bread; for recognition as well as cash; for astonishment rather than torpor; in short for a sort of life, rather than a monday-to-friday sort of dying.
