hrdc blues

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2003.12.18

This morning I went to the HRDC to see about the program they have for getting self-employed people going.

Meredith, my appointed person, seemed put off by the fact that I'd just taken a permanent gig, and went through the motions in a perfunctory fashion. I don't really understand it, given that I'd made the appointment weeks ago before all of this happens, and that I can still make use of the plan at any point in the next three years, but there it is.

rand()m quote

My grandfather once told me that there are two kinds of people: those who work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first group; there was less competition there.
