the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2000.12.12

I'm finding myself spoiled by Sydney's excellent mobile phone service. Yes, it's hellishy expensive, but you can use it everywhere, even in elevators for pete's sake. The network in Toronto is so poor that my phone barely works in our home. And yet, everyone's used to it, here.

Happily, they do return your calls when they say they will! I noticed that immediately (given all of the phoning around I'm doing organizing everything).

Sara isn't over the jet lag yet. It's slightly worrying the way she stays in bed until 2 PM.

rand()m quote

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.
