movie review - The Trigger Effect

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 1997.02.15

This one is about an electrical blackout which appears to have effected the entire North American continent. In an unnamed American city, it only takes hours for things to fall apart. It also tears up our heroes, a small trio of yuppies played by Dermot Mulroney something, Kyle McLachlan, and Elizabeth Shue. People get shot, cars get stolen, and eventually the lights come on, setting everything right. Meh.

Not recommended.

My grandfather once told me that there are two kinds of people: those who work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first group; there was less competition there.
